“My Senior High School Journey”

Moving up to Senior High School made me feel excited and nervous. I can still remember the first day when I had my first step, glance and sniff in my room which gave me a new beginning full of challenges.

Being a graduate of CCNHS Science Curriculum pressured me because of high expectations both from my teachers and classmates that I need to cater. But I am just one of the lucky students who made it to the Science Class and I admit that I am just an average learner. I had classmates who graduated from other curriculum who are performing better than I and now we are on the same footage.

As the days passed, I realized that in Senior High School I have to be serious because lessons are now complicated especially Pre-Calculus which really triggered my mind. No matter how I tried to digest the lessons taught to us in a 45 minute class, I can’t really understand it. It made me feel insane and I almost want to give up. I even told my mom to shift from STEM to HUMS. But my mom said “You have to undergo the process of sharpening and I know you can do it. There is no easy way, you just have to be patient and hardworking”. These inspiring words gave me hope to hold on and push through my tract.

Another adjustment I made is about time constraint. I wake up as early as 4:00 AM because I have to catch up my first class which is 6:00 AM and I’m travelling from Luna to Cauayan everyday. Due to half day session, we do not have break and our class is continuous. What we are doing to finish the tasks given to us is to extend our time in school in the afternoon.

It is good that our adviser Ma’am Joyce gave us “Buddy” who will be our companion in all our undertakings in school. We help each other especially if there is something that we cannot understand in our lesson. This is an initial step made by our adviser to address the no learner left behind policy in her class. She wanted all of her advisee to pass Senior High School and I really love working with my buddy.

My teachers are all responsible because even if they are not around, they see to it that they leave us activities to accomplish. Even if we do not have class due to holiday or school activities they still pamper us with take home lessons and activities. All of this things made me more serious in my studies.

We are just done with the first quarter examination and I know there are more challenges to come. I need to do all the tasks given to us in order to pass. Though it’s hard, I have to do my best because I know in due time I will reap what I sow.
